Bucharest: A delegation from the Ministry of Trade participated in the official ceremony held in Bucharest to sign a new Memorandum of Understanding between the Iraqi Federation of Chambers of Commerce and the Romanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, aimed at strengthening economic and trade cooperation between the two countries.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the memorandum was signed on behalf of Iraq by the President of the Iraqi Federation of Chambers of Commerce, Abdul Razzaq Al-Zuhairi, while the President of the Romanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry signed on behalf of Romania.

The Director General of the Foreign Economic Relations Department at the Ministry of Trade, Riyad Al-Hashimi, stated that the memorandum represents an important framework for developing partnerships between the business sectors of both countries and opening new horizons for trade and investment cooperation.

The ceremony also included bilateral discussions focusing on preparations for the upcoming meeting of the Iraqi-Romanian Joint Committee, in addition to encouraging Romanian companies to participate in the next session of the Baghdad International Fair, which offers opportunities for networking and exploring investment prospects in the Iraqi market.

The Ministry of Trade affirmed that the signing of this memorandum aligns with the government’s efforts to expand international partnerships and boost trade activity with friendly countries.
