Baghdad: National Security Advisor Qasim al-Araji received the National Security Advisor of the Republic of Tajikistan, who arrived in Iraq on an official visit in response to Baghdad's invitation to countries with citizens in the Syrian al-Hol camp.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the National Security Advisory stated in a press release that during the meeting, bilateral relations and ways to enhance security and intelligence cooperation were discussed. Additionally, the issue of repatriating Tajik nationals from the al-Hol camp and coordinating humanitarian and security efforts aimed at ending the suffering of families residing in the camp was addressed.

During the meeting, al-Araji reviewed the Iraqi experience in transferring Iraqi families from camps and enrolling them in rehabilitation and social integration programs, in preparation for their return to their areas of origin. He explained that this experience has proven successful in promoting social stability and reducing the chances of a resurgence of extremism.

Both sides also emphasized the importance of continued cooperation and coordination between the two countries in combating terrorism and extremism, and exchanging expertise and intelligence information, in order to enhance regional and international security and serve the common interests of both countries.
