Baghdad:Minister of Justice Khalid Shwani expressed Iraq’s intention to finalize a prisoner transfer agreement with Tajikistan during discussions with the Tajik Ambassador.

According to Iraqi News Agency, Shwani met with Ambassador Zubaydullo Zubaydov to explore opportunities for enhancing legal cooperation between Iraq and Tajikistan. The focus of their meeting was on completing the necessary procedures to sign a prisoner exchange agreement, ensuring it aligns with legal and human rights standards.

Shwani emphasized Iraq’s interest in formalizing the prisoner transfer agreement and expanding cooperation with other nations to foster bilateral relations and serve mutual interests.

Ambassador Zubaydov reiterated Tajikistan’s commitment to strengthening judicial and legal ties with Iraq and expressed a desire to conclude the prisoner exchange agreement.
