Baghdad: The Chairman of the Border Ports Authority, Lieutenant General Omar Adnan Al-Waeli, held talks on Wednesday with a delegation from the United Arab Emirates, led by Abdullah Nasser Loutah, to strengthen cooperation in the field of electronic governance for border management.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Waeli received the UAE delegation, headed by Abdullah Nasser Loutah, Assistant Minister of Cabinet Affairs for Competitiveness and Knowledge Exchange, to discuss joint cooperation between the two countries in various areas, particularly in integrated electronic border management.

Al-Waeli highlighted that the Authority is undergoing a transformation in managing border crossings through the adoption of modern technologies, implementation of electronic governance systems, and data exchange among relevant agencies, stressing that this digital shift is under the direct supervision of the Prime Minister and reflects the government's approach toward building a diversified and sustainable economy.

The statement concluded by emphasizing the importance of exchanging expertise between Iraq and the UAE in border management and enhancing bilateral relations and cooperation in this sector.
