Baghdad: Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Bilateral Relations, Mohammed Bahr al-Uloom, engaged in discussions with the Under-Secretary-General for Operational Support, Atul Khare, focusing on the mechanisms for implementing UN Security Council Resolution 2732. This resolution aims to ensure a smooth transition of the United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq’s (UNAMI) mandate.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs released a statement detailing the meeting that took place on Monday. During the session, Bahr al-Uloom conveyed the Iraqi government’s gratitude for UNAMI’s role since its inception, highlighting that the relationship between Iraq and the United Nations is poised to enter a new phase of cooperation. This new phase will be aligned with Iraq’s priorities and recent positive developments.

The statement further revealed that the discussions centered on implementing the resolution to facilitate a seamless transition of UNAMI’s responsibilities.
