Baghdad: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the sincere congratulations of the Republic of Iraq to the government and people of the Arab Republic of Egypt on the occasion of the official opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry stated, “The Republic of Iraq expresses its sincere congratulations to the government and people of the Arab Republic of Egypt on the occasion of the official opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum, this magnificent cultural and civilizational monument that embodies the depth of Egyptian history and its enduring contributions to the progress of human civilization.”

The Ministry commended “this pioneering project, which is an exceptional event in the history of human culture and civilization, with its treasures and artifacts that document Egypt’s glory and authenticity, and present to the world a vivid picture of the sophistication and creativity of the Egyptian people throughout the ages.”

The Ministry praised Egypt as “a beacon of creativity and progress, and a center of cultural and civilizational influence, adding to its rich history of human contributions.” It reiterated “the deep historical ties that bind the Iraqi and Egyptian civilizations, which together formed the foundations of early human consciousness and contributed to building the landmarks of progress and knowledge throughout history.”

The Ministry added that “the Republic of Iraq wishes the brotherly Arab Republic of Egypt continued progress and prosperity, and its dear people further prosperity and growth, and that the Grand Egyptian Museum will be a global beacon illuminating the paths of human culture and connecting the glorious past with the present and future.”
