Amman: The Iraqi national table tennis team clinched second place in the West Asian Championship, which concluded in Amman, Jordan, with the participation of ten national teams.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Table Tennis Federation issued a press release stating that Iraq competed in multiple age categories, including under-11, under-12, under-13, under-15, and under-19. The Iraqi team secured a total of 21 medals: four gold, nine silver, and eight bronze.

The statement highlighted the Iraqi players’ technical skills and performance during the matches, pointing to the development of the sport’s foundation in Iraq and the emergence of promising talents. It further noted that the championship unveiled potential future stars for Iraqi table tennis, who are expected to enhance the national teams’ performance in upcoming competitions.
