Baghdad:According to Iraqi News Agency, Iraq is keen to enhance its relations with Russia while advancing its governmental program and objectives. National Security Adviser Qasim al-Aboudi emphasized this during a meeting with Russian Ambassador to Iraq Elbrus Kutrashev, marking the end of Kutrashev’s tenure as ambassador.

The meeting focused on discussing the bilateral relations between Iraq and Russia, exploring ways to strengthen and develop cooperation across various fields beneficial to both nations. Al-Aboudi highlighted Iraq’s dedication to expanding cooperation with Russia, noting the adverse impacts of wars and conflicts on people, as well as the resulting negative economic and developmental consequences.

Al-Aboudi also mentioned that the Iraqi government, led by Prime Minister Ali Falih al-Zaidi, is making progress in implementing its governmental program. The focus is on achieving stability, supporting reconstruction, development, and economic reform.

Russian Ambassador Kutrashev expressed his belief in Iraq’s potential as a promising country with a prosperous future. He reiterated Russia’s support for enhancing bilateral relations and cooperation between the two countries.
