Baghdad: Iraq has expressed strong condemnation of the violations committed by the Rapid Support Forces in El Fasher, located in western Sudan, which have led to significant casualties and severe suffering among innocent civilians.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement denouncing the actions in El Fasher. The Ministry emphasized Iraq’s firm stance against any attempts to destabilize security and infringe upon the sovereignty of Sudan, a country Iraq considers a brotherly nation. Furthermore, the statement highlighted the dangers associated with efforts to impose a fait accompli or to create any geographical or political divisions within Sudan.
The Ministry reiterated Iraq’s commitment to supporting dialogue as a means of conflict resolution, rejecting violence, and advocating for peaceful solutions. It emphasized Iraq’s backing for a national dialogue framework aimed at ending the crisis and ensuring security and stability for the Sudanese populace.
