Iraq Crowned Champion of the West Asian Billiards and Snooker Championship


Manama: The Iraqi national team achieved a remarkable accomplishment by being crowned champion of the West Asian Billiards and Snooker Championship.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Olympic Committee’s media stated in a statement that Iraq won the championship after winning a total of 11 colored medals, distributed as follows: 3 gold, 3 silver, and 5 bronze, at the conclusion of the championship competitions held in the Kingdom of Bahrain. It indicated that the championship witnessed strong competition between the teams of the region, during which the Iraqi players excelled and presented outstanding performances, culminating in topping the medal table.



It added that the closing ceremony of the tournament was attended by Ihsan Allawi, the Iraqi Ambassador to Bahrain, who expressed his pride and appreciation for the achievement of the Iraqi champions, stressing that this victory reflects the development of Iraqi sports and its return to prominence on the regional scene.
