Baghdad: Iraq has secured a prominent position among Iran’s top trading partners during the first seven months of this year, ranking second among the largest importers of Iranian non-oil goods, according to data from the Iranian Trade Development Organization. The value of Iraq’s imports of Iranian non-oil goods reached approximately $5.823 billion during this period, solidifying its position as the second largest market for Iranian exports after China.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, statistics showed that China maintained its leading position with imports valued at $8.227 billion, followed by Iraq, then the UAE at $4.5 billion, Turkey at $3.714 billion, and Afghanistan in fifth place with $1.405 billion. The value of Iran’s non-oil exports during the same period reached approximately $32 billion, compared to imports of $34.5 billion. The average value per exported ton decreased to $348, a drop of 4.92% compared to the same period last year.

Iranian exports included a variety of goods such as natural gas ($2.796 billion), liquefied propane ($2.099 billion), and petroleum bitumen ($1.381 billion), in addition to liquefied butane, methanol, iron and steel alloys, and urea.
