Baghdad: Iraq topped the list of importers from Turkey during the first seven months of this year, with goods valued at $5.7 billion.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Turkish Ministry of Trade reported that Iraq led the list of countries importing Turkish goods, with imports valued at $5.7 billion in the first seven months of this year. Bulgaria followed with $2.6 billion, Greece with $2.1 billion, and Georgia with $1.4 billion.

Turkey’s exports to neighboring countries increased by 4 percent during the first seven months compared to the same period last year, reaching $15.6 billion. The Turkish Ministry of Trade highlighted that the share of neighboring countries, including Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Georgia, Iran, Iraq, Syria, and Greece, in total exports amounted to $15 billion, 592 million, and 919 thousand. In contrast, the same period in 2024 recorded exports worth $14 billion, 972 million.
