Baghdad: Iraq’s Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Bilateral Relations, Mohammed Hussein Bahr al-Uloom, has emphasized the importance of dialogue and diplomacy as tools to prevent a dangerous conflict in the region that could pose a threat to all countries involved.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, this statement was made during a meeting at the ministry’s headquarters where Bahr al-Uloom received Australian Ambassador Glenn Miles. The discussions focused on strengthening bilateral relations between Iraq and Australia across various sectors. The Undersecretary highlighted the need for enhanced cooperation amidst the security and political stability currently observed in Iraq.

The conversation also touched upon the ongoing tensions and military escalation in the Middle East, which endanger regional peace and security. Bahr al-Uloom reiterated Iraq’s steadfast position on respecting the sovereignty of states, reinforcing the belief that dialogue and diplomacy can effectively prevent a potentially catastrophic conflict in the region.
