Paris: The Ministry of Trade of Iraq, through the representation of Mustafa Nizar Al-Ani, Director General of the Iraqi General Company for Exhibitions, took part in the General Assembly meeting of the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) in Paris, France. The assembly attracted delegations from various member states and international entities focused on the exhibitions sector.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Iraq’s involvement is part of the Iraqi General Company for Exhibitions’ strategic initiative to bolster its presence in global forums pertinent to exhibitions, aiming to align with international advancements in organizing and managing Expo events.

Further discussions at the meeting revolved around the BIE’s general budget for 2025-2026, along with an evaluation of the rules and regulations governing the organization of World Expos. The assembly also included talks about Bulgaria’s preparations to host Expo 2027, as well as reviewing the progress of Saudi Arabia’s preparations for Expo 2030.

The ministry’s statement emphasized that such participation is pivotal in solidifying Iraq’s role within the global exhibition framework. It provides a platform for exchanging expertise and understanding best practices and international standards, thereby fostering the development of Iraq’s exhibition sector and enhancing its prospects for future involvement in international events.
