New york: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Planning, Mohammed Ali Tamim, arrived in New York to lead Iraq’s delegation at the UN High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development. The forum, held at the United Nations headquarters, takes place from July 21 to 24 and includes leaders and representatives from member states.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Minister Tamim will not only lead the Iraqi delegation but also chair the delegations of the Group of 77 and China, as well as the Arab Group. This international forum addresses the pathways for implementing the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda and discusses challenges faced by developing countries amidst ongoing global crises.

Throughout the forum, Minister Tamim is expected to engage in bilateral meetings and official talks with counterparts and representatives from various countries and international organizations. These discussions aim to explore cooperation opportunities, exchange experiences, and strengthen Iraq’s role in regional
and global development frameworks.

The forum will also feature Iraq’s third Voluntary National Review on Sustainable Development, presenting the progress made toward achieving the developmental goals.
