Muscat: The Ministry of Environment is engaging in discussions with Omani investors to explore opportunities for developing biofuel projects in Iraq. The Iraqi delegation, participating in Climate Week in Muscat, engaged with several biofuel producers and developers in Oman, focusing on investment and partnership opportunities. These discussions aim to utilize local resources, biomass, and waste to reduce emissions, thereby achieving economic and environmental gains.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry of Environment stated that the discussions included the potential for employing advanced technologies and expertise in biofuel project development. This initiative aligns with Iraq’s objectives of advancing a carbon economy and a circular economy, paving the way for green investments.

The General Company for Carbon Economics is working to attract international technology, expertise, and capital. It aims to establish partnerships with investors and developers to create viable and scalable green projects in Iraq.
