Baghdad: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Fuad Hussein expressed Iraq’s gratitude to the Arab and international countries and organizations that offered condolences over the Kut tragedy in Wasit Governorate.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs indicated that Minister Fuad Hussein conveyed his sincere thanks and appreciation to all brotherly and friendly countries, foreign ministers, international and regional organizations, and humanitarian agencies that expressed their solidarity and offered their condolences to the government and people of Iraq following the painful tragedy of a tragic fire that broke out in a shopping mall in the city of Kut, Wasit Governorate. This unfortunate incident resulted in a number of innocent casualties and injuries.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that these solidarity positions reflect the depth of the humanitarian relations and fraternal and diplomatic ties that bind Iraq to its Arab and inte
rnational surroundings. It praised the sense of responsibility demonstrated by these parties in such difficult times.
Furthermore, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs renewed its condolences to the families of the victims, wishing a speedy recovery for the injured, and affirmed the government’s commitment to taking all necessary measures to address the effects of this disaster and prevent its recurrence.
