Baghdad: Iraq expressed its solidarity with the government and people of the Russian Federation for the passenger plane crash. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement: "Iraq expresses its solidarity with the government and people of the Russian Federation over the crash of the An-24 passenger plane in the Tynda region of the Amur Region in the Russian Far East, which resulted in the deaths of all passengers."

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry offered its sincere condolences to the families of the victims and the Russian people, expressing Iraq's support for Russia in this painful circumstance. Earlier today, Thursday, Russian emergency services announced that contact had been lost with an An-24 passenger plane in the Amur Region, with 49 people on board.

The regional emergency services reported that rescue teams have been dispatched to the Tyndinsky district of the Amur Region to search for the missing plane. A source told TASS that "the Angara An-24 aircraft was unable to contact the control point a few kilometers from Tyndinsky Airport." There were 40 passengers on board, including two children, and six crew members.
