Baghdad: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed, on Thursday, Iraq’s solidarity with Korea over the fires in North Gyeongsang Province, which resulted in numerous casualties.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry stated in a statement, “The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expresses the solidarity of the Republic of Iraq, government and people, with the friendly Republic of Korea, and extends its sincere condolences and sympathy to the families of the victims who lost their lives as a result of the devastating fires that swept through the southeastern province of North Gyeongsang, resulting in numerous casualties.”
It added, “While the Republic of Iraq shares the pain and grief of the Republic of Korea in this ordeal, it affirms its support for the friendly Korean people, expressing its wishes for a speedy recovery for the injured, and appreciating the efforts of the Korean authorities in confronting this crisis with competence and dedication.”
The statement continued, “These painful events confirm the importance of international cooperation in confronting natural disasters, and reflect the bonds of human solidarity that bind peoples together.”
