Baghdad: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Fuad Hussein extended an official invitation to the Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Meshaal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, to attend the upcoming Arab Summit in Baghdad scheduled for next month. This invitation was personally delivered to the Crown Prince of Kuwait, Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, as part of Iraq’s diplomatic outreach efforts.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the official meeting took place at Bayan Palace, where the Iraqi minister conveyed warm greetings from Iraq’s President Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid and Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani. During the meeting, the strong fraternal relations and historical ties between Iraq and Kuwait were acknowledged and praised.

The Crown Prince of Kuwait, in response, reiterated Iraq’s significant role within the League of Arab States and emphasized the necessity of collaborative efforts to bolster joint Arab initiatives. Minister Fuad Hussein expressed Iraq’s eagerness for Kuwaiti participation in the summit, acknowledging the event’s timing amid significant challenges confronting the Arab region.

Minister Hussein also mentioned Iraq’s close monitoring of negotiations between Iran and the United States, expressing optimism for beneficial outcomes and Iraq’s commitment to supporting these discussions.

The meeting further explored avenues for enhancing Iraq-Kuwait cooperation across political, economic, and cultural sectors. The Minister stressed the positive trajectory of bilateral relations and the significance of collaborative efforts to achieve regional stability.

The discussions also covered key regional and international issues, underscoring the importance of joint coordination to address prevailing challenges, thereby serving the mutual interests of Iraq and Kuwait and reinforcing regional security and stability.
