Baghdad: The Head of Iraq’s Federal Commission of Integrity, Mohammed Ali Al-Lami, held discussions with a delegation from the World Bank Mission in Iraq to explore ways to enhance integrity and transparency in contracts and projects financed by the bank.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Lami met with Alan Bacarese, Head of the World Bank’s Integrity Unit, Emmanuel Salinas, the World Bank’s Special Representative in Iraq, and other delegates. Al-Lami emphasized Iraq’s support for international initiatives aimed at combating corruption and acknowledged the collaboration with the World Bank Mission to improve transparency and prevent corruption.
Bacarese expressed interest in signing a memorandum of understanding with the Commission, praising the efforts made by the Iraqi Anti-Corruption Academy. He noted the potential for international bodies to learn from the Academy’s experience and mentioned ongoing efforts to automate anti-corruption procedures.

ing the memorandum of understanding, pointing out the technical support from international organizations like the World Bank Mission and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). He stated that such support strengthens integrity systems and good governance, aiding national efforts to combat corruption in line with international standards.
He further noted that the Commission aims to prevent corruption proactively, support investors, and protect them from extortion.
