Iraq, Japan Discuss Means Of Joint Cooperation Between The Two Countries In The Field Of Human Rights

Baghdad Head of the Human Rights Department Ali Hilal met with Yokote Fuminori, Chargé d’Affairs of the Japanese Embassy in Baghdad.

A statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that during the meeting, they discussed means of joint cooperation between the two countries in the field of human rights within the Asian group, the ongoing preparations for the upcoming 47th session of the Human Rights Council, and the most important topics that will be discussed within the session’s work. It was also agreed to enhance mutual support deals between the two countries to obtain international positions within human rights mechanisms, including the representation of Asian countries in treaty committees.
