Iraq, Jordan Discuss The Joint Work In The Field Of Atomic Energy And Its Scientific And Academic Uses

The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Chairman of the Atomic Energy Commission, Naeem Al-Aboudi, held a meeting with his Jordanian counterpart, Head of the Jordanian Atomic Energy Commission, Khaled Touqan, and they discussed prospects for coordination regarding scientific research, training, visits and mutual programs.

Al-Aboudi expressed, according to a statement by the ministry, his thanks to the head of the Jordanian Atomic Energy Commission for the kind invitation to visit the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the facilities of the Jordanian Atomic Energy Commission, which are witnessing important indicators in the field of radioactive isotope production, uranium mining, tests and calibrations conducted by specialized laboratories, and hosting regional and international events.

During the joint meeting, he stressed the keenness of the Iraqi Atomic Energy Commission and its staff to frame the area of cooperation and what it includes of projects that serve the peaceful energy file of the two countries in the research and scientific fields and to build productive partnerships with brotherly and friendly countries.

Touqan pointed out: the importance of developing relations and strengthening the joint work environment in the fields of atomic energy and its peaceful and academic uses.
