Doha: Iraq chaired the 10th meeting of the Arab Network for Promoting Integrity in Doha, unveiling its strategic plan for the years 2026-2028. Al-Lami expressed pride in the network's journey since its inception in 2008, highlighting its growth as a significant collaborative platform involving 53 ministries and bodies from 20 Arab countries, alongside 25 independent organizations from civil society, the private sector, and academia.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Lami welcomed the inclusion of new members, namely the State Audit Institution of the Sultanate of Oman and the General Auditing Bureau of the Federal Republic of Somalia. He viewed this expansion as indicative of the growing scope of cooperative Arab efforts. Al-Lami also praised the network's evolution from policy coordination to specialized fieldwork, noting the establishment of six regional expert teams focused on promoting integrity in critical sectors such as health, education, and public transportation, as well as developing mechanisms for cross-border anti-corruption cooperation.

Al-Lami emphasized that combating corruption should become a popular movement, citing Iraqi initiatives like the 'Knock on Doors' campaign, the 'Integrity Code of Honor,' and the 'Instilling Values' strategy aimed at individuals from kindergarten through university. The meeting, led by Arkan Seblani of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and featuring Elena Saylen from UNDP, sought to enhance dialogue on integrity strategies within recovery and reconstruction efforts in conflict-affected areas, and to explore strengthening cross-border partnerships for the upcoming strategic period.

Al-Lami expressed hope that Iraq's experience, bolstered by the network's regional momentum, would aid in harmonizing approaches to mitigating corruption across the region. He reaffirmed Iraq's dedication to its leading role in advancing accountability and transparency values.
