Washington: The U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) announced a notable decrease in Iraq's oil exports to the United States, reporting a drop of 57,000 barrels per day during the past week.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the EIA's weekly report highlighted that the average U.S. imports of crude oil from nine main supplier countries rose to 5.337 million barrels per day. This marks an increase of 667,000 barrels per day compared to the previous week's figure of 4.670 million barrels per day.

The report detailed that U.S. oil imports from Iraq amounted to 149,000 barrels per day, down from the 206,000 barrels per day recorded the preceding week. Meanwhile, Canada emerged as the leading crude oil supplier to the United States, with Colombia and Nigeria following. The data also showed continued imports from Venezuela, Saudi Arabia, Brazil, and Libya, while no oil was imported from Ecuador during the same period.
