Amman: Minister of Communications Hiyam Al-Yasiri took part in the Arab Ministers’ Meeting on the Arab Digital Agenda for the Arab World Forum for Digital Cooperation and Development (DCDF) in its second edition. The event is being held in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan from February 23-26. It includes the presence of the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States and Arab Ministers of Communications. During her speech at the roundtable session, the Minister emphasized the necessity of updating and following up on the Arab digital agenda, highlighting its role in keeping pace with global developments in digitization, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Yasiri highlighted the importance of strengthening the digital economy by leveraging the creative capabilities of young innovators in Arab countries, including Iraq. She emphasized the creation of experts from talented individuals by focusing on building human resources and facilitating training and experience exchange in digitization and artificial intelligence.

The Minister also proposed the establishment of regulatory and legislative frameworks to oversee digital transformation and emerging technologies under an Arab framework. This would facilitate the creation of local legislation that respects the social and religious contexts of Arab countries, including the ethical use of artificial intelligence.
