Cairo: The Ministry of Education, represented by Dr. Abdul Rahman Al-Tamimi, Director of the Human Rights Department, participated in the regional consultative meeting held by UNESCO in Egypt for four consecutive days. The meeting was attended by Arab and foreign delegations, as well as representatives from Asian and African countries and organizations concerned with human rights and education.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry stated in a press release: “The Iraqi delegation reviewed the Ministry’s efforts to consolidate human rights within the educational system through the establishment of specialized units in the directorates general, the activation of activities supporting the right to education, and the inclusion of values related to rights and responsibilities in the curricula. The delegation also presented the national plan for previous years and preparations for launching the (2026-2030) plan, along with its accompanying awareness programs and projects related to climate change.”
