Baghdad: First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, affirmed that Iraq represents a key pillar in ensuring the stability of global energy markets, stressing that the Baghdad International Energy Forum serves as a strategic platform to reinforce this pivotal role.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Mandalawi stated in a press release that the upcoming forum, scheduled to begin next Saturday, will offer Iraq a significant opportunity to solidify its standing as an influential participant in the global energy landscape.

The forum, taking place from September 6-7, is organized by Ghad Foundation for Risk Management in collaboration with the Ministry of Oil, the State Oil Marketing Organization (SOMO), the Central Bank of Iraq, and the Iraqi Institute for Dialogue. It will be held under the patronage of Prime Minister Mohammed Shiaa Al-Sudani.

Ministers of energy from OPEC member states are expected to attend, alongside representatives from major international energy companies and experts from both within and outside Iraq, marking a significant convergence of energy stakeholders.
