Baghdad: Iraq’s Prime Minister, Ali Faleh al-Zaidi, declared that Iraq should not serve as a platform for harming others, as he addressed a gathering during the Sunni Endowment celebration commemorating the Prophet Muhammad’s birthday. He highlighted the upcoming withdrawal of international coalition forces from Iraq on September 30th, marking a significant step toward the country’s full sovereignty over its sacred land.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Prime Minister al-Zaidi emphasized the historical tensions that have affected the Arab and Islamic region, leading to divisions. Since taking office, he has committed to constructing a fully sovereign Iraq. The government’s agenda includes a comprehensive approach to construction, reform, anti-corruption measures, fostering a productive work environment, and establishing security institutions that function within the constitutional framework.

Al-Zaidi stressed the importance of adhering to Iraq’s rich heritage, inspired by the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad, to achieve unity in decision-making. He praised the Prophet as a beacon of humanity and virtue, whose life represented a pivotal moment in spiritual and material development. The Prime Minister extended congratulations to the Islamic nation and the Iraqi people on the Prophet’s birth anniversary, expressing gratitude to the Supreme Religious Authority and other religious institutions for their role in maintaining Iraq’s security and promoting civil peace.
