Iraq Prioritizes Strengthening Relations with Friendly Nations

Baghdad: The Deputy Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament, Adnan Faihan al-Dulaimi, emphasized on Monday that Iraq is committed to enhancing its relations with friendly and brotherly countries. Faihan's remarks came during a meeting with Alexander Lerfel, the Charg© d'Affaires of the Kingdom of Norway to Iraq, and his delegation. The discussions centered on the latest developments in the local political scene, regional challenges, and their impact on regional and international peace and security.

According to Iraqi News Agency, Faihan reiterated Iraq's commitment to a balanced foreign policy, highlighting its dedication to fostering relations with friendly nations. He expressed Iraq's desire to develop cooperative aspects with the European Union, underscoring the nation's strategy to diversify its oil export outlets by engaging with European markets. Furthermore, Faihan expressed a willingness to expand collaboration with Norway across various sectors to enhance security and stability, support sustainable development, and achieve shared objectives.

In response, the Norwegian Charg© d'Affaires commended the positive political and developmental changes occurring in Iraq. He also conveyed Norway's eagerness to continue strengthening cooperation with Iraqi institutions and to advance the bilateral partnership to support construction and development efforts, thereby enhancing the relationship between the two countries.
