Washington: The U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) announced on Sunday that Iraq ranked second among the top crude oil suppliers to the United States last week, according to data from nine key exporting countries.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, in its weekly report, the EIA stated that U.S. crude oil imports averaged 5.351 million barrels per day, reflecting a decline of 274,000 barrels per day compared to the previous week’s average of 5.625 million barrels per day.

The data revealed that Iraq exported approximately 273,000 barrels of oil per day to the U.S., making it the second-largest supplier after Canada, which topped the list. Brazil, Colombia, and Saudi Arabia followed in subsequent positions.

The report also indicated that the U.S. continued to import crude oil from Mexico, Libya, Ecuador, and Nigeria, while no imports were recorded from Venezuela during the same period.
