Baghdad: National Security Advisor Qasim al-Araji affirmed Iraq’s readiness to share its experience in rehabilitation and social reintegration with the international community.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the National Security Chancellery stated in a press release that al-Araji met with Sasha Kroman, the Deputy Administrator of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), in his office. The meeting focused on discussing ways to continue and strengthen cooperation between Iraq and the UNDP.
Al-Araji expressed gratitude from the Iraqi government for the support provided by the United Nations through its development program. He highlighted the support directed to the National Committee for Countering Violent Extremism, which is responsible for monitoring and taking legal action against discourse promoting violent extremism and terrorism.
Furthermore, al-Araji emphasized the importance of closing and dismantling al-Hol camp, reiterating Iraq’s readiness to share its rehabilitation and social reintegration expertise with the international community.
The Deputy Administrator of the UNDP, Sasha Kroman, acknowledged Iraq’s significant expertise in this area and expressed appreciation for Iraq’s extensive cooperation in the rehabilitation and social integration process.
