Baghdad: The Director of the Prime Minister’s Office, Ihsan al-Awadi, announced that Iraq has successfully resumed the export of substantial oil quantities through the Strait of Hormuz, marking a gradual return to previous export levels. This development highlights a significant achievement for the Iraqi government under Prime Minister Ali Faleh al-Zaidi.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, al-Awadi detailed that the active diplomatic efforts during the first 100 days of al-Zaidi’s administration played a crucial role in this achievement. The period saw numerous diplomatic visits and engagements by Iraqi delegations, spearheaded by the Prime Minister’s travels to various countries and international institutions. These efforts have led to the signing of numerous agreements and memoranda of understanding, revitalizing Iraq’s foreign relations on both regional and international fronts.

Al-Awadi emphasized that recent agreements with Gulf states, despite ongoing conflicts, have facilitated the export of significant oil volumes through the Strait of Hormuz. This, along with exports from northern and western Iraq, signifies a strategic move towards restoring Iraq’s oil export levels. The Iraqi government’s success in this domain has been instrumental in securing salary payments for citizens, dispelling concerns about reliance on Central Bank reserves.

The director further noted that Iraq’s growing revenues, bolstered by these oil exports, underscore the government’s substantial efforts in navigating the persistent war and crisis. The administration remains committed to ensuring financial stability and reassuring citizens about the security of their salaries, backed by robust oil export income.
