Iraq Returns Archives to Kuwait and Explores Enhanced Cooperation


Kuwait city: A delegation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs handed over part of its archives and records to the State of Kuwait during an official visit by the Undersecretary for Multilateral and Legal Affairs, Ambassador Shorsh Khalid Saeed, to the Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The handover marks a significant step in Iraq’s compliance with international resolutions and its commitment to fostering stable bilateral relations.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in a press release that the two sides discussed strengthening bilateral cooperation between Iraq and Kuwait in the political and economic fields. They also focused on coordinating joint work within international organizations and reviewed the challenges facing the region.



Ambassador Saeed emphasized Iraq’s keenness to strengthen relations with Kuwait, conveying the greetings of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Fuad Hussein. He noted that the handover of the archives not only complies with international resolutions but also embodies Iraq’s desire to build relations based on trust and mutual respect.



On the Kuwaiti side, Deputy Foreign Minister Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah welcomed the Iraqi delegation, expressing the importance of strengthening cooperation and increasing the exchange of visits between the two brotherly countries.
