Iraq Reviews Preparations for OIC Conference


Baghdad:Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein chaired a meeting to review the latest preparations for Iraq hosting the 52nd session of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Council of Foreign Ministers.



According to Iraqi News Agency, Hussein emphasized the significance of the conference, noting that it presents an opportunity to showcase Iraq to international guests. The presidency of the conference is considered to hold special importance at regional and international levels and among OIC member states.



Ambassador Shorsh Khalid Saeed, Undersecretary for Multilateral and Legal Affairs, informed the committee about their key activities, focusing on logistical and technical preparations for receiving official delegations. He highlighted the launch of the conference’s official platform and acknowledged the cooperation with various government institutions.



The committee, in collaboration with other ministry undersecretaries and political departments, contributed to drafting the “Baghdad Declaration.” Additionally, the completion of the guidebook for participating delegations, as well as the final arrangements for the media center and the main conference hall, were noted as part of the preparations.
