Sanaa:The Chairman of the Iraq Securities Commission (ISC), Faisal Al-Haimus, emphasized efforts to develop a robust and appealing investment market. He highlighted the role of the capital market in financing companies and channeling savings into investments.
According to Iraqi News Agency, Al-Haimus made these remarks during the Sixth Global Investor Day Conference. He stated that Iraq is entering a new economic phase focused on diversifying the economy, expanding investment opportunities, and establishing partnerships grounded in trust and shared interests.
He elaborated on the significance of the capital market as more than just a trading venue, describing it as a vehicle for transforming opportunities into projects that can drive national economic growth. The Securities Commission is actively working to enhance market efficiency and transparency through legislative development, improved governance, digital transformation, and investor protection measures.
Al-Haimus underscored the importance of trust and transparency in building a strong Iraqi financial market that can attract investment. He pointed out that a well-informed investor base and a transparent market are key to achieving this goal.
