Berlin: Iraq is actively working to shape a new economic identity, as emphasized by Prime Minister Ali Faleh al-Zaidi during the German-Iraqi Business Dialogue Forum in Berlin. Highlighting the theme “Economic Bridges for a Shared Future,” al-Zaidi expressed Iraq’s need for productive partnerships to bolster its developmental trajectory.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Prime Minister al-Zaidi articulated the many commonalities that bind Iraq with Germany, an industrial powerhouse. He underscored the Iraqi government’s eagerness to collaborate with Germany across various fields and sectors. During the forum, al-Zaidi presented a comprehensive investment map for Iraq that spans the energy sector, oil and petrochemical industries, phosphates, clean energy, and pharmaceutical industries, while also emphasizing support for the government’s automation initiatives.

The Prime Minister detailed the government’s plans to implement financial, tax, and banking reforms aimed at enhancing the investment environment and fostering economic growth. He encouraged German companies to invest in Iraq, assuring them of a conducive investment climate and the removal of potential operational obstacles.

Al-Zaidi also highlighted the extensive facilities and guarantees provided by Iraq’s investment law, underscoring the nation’s political and economic stability and its democratic system that supports institutional activities. This initiative marks a significant step in Iraq’s efforts to forge a robust and promising economic future.
