Baghdad: Iraq welcomes the imposition of restrictions by European countries and Canada on trade in goods with the Zionist entity. The Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs has expressed approval of the decision made by Canada, Finland, France, Iceland, Ireland, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, and the United Kingdom to restrict trade with the Zionist entity.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry described the decision as “a correct step towards supporting international efforts aimed at deterring the occupation’s settlement policies, which constitute a flagrant violation of international law and a blatant attack on the rights of the Palestinian people.” The Ministry sees this as a positive development in reinforcing respect for international law and legitimacy principles.

The Ministry also expressed hope that other countries will adopt similar measures, which could contribute to ending settlement activities and securing rights for the Palestinian people.
