Iraq to Host the Baghdad International Energy Forum in September 2025


Baghdad: The Capital, Baghdad, is preparing to host the “Baghdad International Energy Forum,” one of the most prominent international events in the energy sector, in early September 2025.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Forum will be held under the patronage of Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani and the Ministry of Oil, in partnership with the Ghadan Foundation for Risk Management and the Iraqi Institute for Dialogue. The event is sponsored by the State Oil Marketing Organization (SOMO).



Official invitations to attend the forum have been extended to the Ministers of Energy and Oil from 12 countries. Senior executives from major international oil companies and a group of experts and specialists in various energy fields are also expected to participate.



The Forum’s sessions will cover vital topics related to environmental sustainability, technological innovation, and developments in global energy markets. Additionally, it will address the challenges and opportunities facing the region in this context.



This Forum represents Iraq’s future directions in developing the oil, gas, and renewable energy sectors. It reflects the country’s commitment to playing an active role in consolidating regional and international dialogue on the future of global energy.
