Baghdad: Iraqi government spokesman Haider al-Aboudi affirmed that the agreements signed with Washington represent a qualitative shift in the nature of the partnership with the United States, elevating the bilateral relationship to a long-term strategic economic level based on attracting quality investments and transferring expertise and technology.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, al-Aboudi stated that the agreements and memoranda of understanding signed between the Republic of Iraq and the United States of America summarize the strategic economic vision of the Iraqi government, headed by Prime Minister Ali Faleh al-Zubaidi. These agreements embody the importance of the direction and course of the Iraqi government's decision-making in protecting Iraqi interests and securing safe passage for national wealth.

He added that during his visit to Washington, the Prime Minister selected the files most closely related to Iraq's economic development priorities, with a focus on the energy sector, developing investment in oil and gas, supporting infrastructure projects, and expanding cooperation in the fields of technology and the financial sector.
