Baghdad: More than 1,813,000 visitors from 172 nationalities have entered Iraq to participate in the Arba’een pilgrimage, according to an announcement by the head of the Security Media Cell, Lieutenant General Saad Maan. This influx marks a significant global gathering as pilgrims arrive to commemorate Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) during the current Hijri year’s Muharram.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Lieutenant General Saad Maan emphasized the immense scale of this global event and highlighted the efficient management of millions of pilgrims by Iraqi security forces. The forces have implemented integrated security and organizational plans, supported directly by the Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Ali al-Zubaidi. The Supreme Committee for Million-Person Pilgrimages has also played a critical role in monitoring the event, ensuring coordination among relevant ministries, departments, and institutions to offer a secure and comprehensive service environment for pilgrims from their entry into Iraq to their arrival at the holy sites.

Maan acknowledged the extraordinary efforts of the security forces, ministries, departments, and supporting service committees, alongside the general secretariats of the holy shrines. He noted the continuous services provided by the Husseini processions and volunteers, which demonstrate the spirit of solidarity and cooperation among Iraqis. These efforts have contributed to the success of the Arba’een pilgrimage, honoring the significance of this major religious occasion.
