Baghdad: Iraqi Airways has announced the return of its Airbus A330 aircraft to active service following the completion of an intermediate periodic inspection, specifically Service Check 2. This maintenance was carried out entirely by specialized Iraqi personnel, marking a significant achievement for the airline. According to National Iraqi News Agency, Company Director Mustafa Talib revealed in a press release that the engineering and technical teams performed the maintenance tasks adhering to the highest internationally recognized standards. The comprehensive maintenance included upgrading the cooling system, servicing the braking system, performing maintenance on the second engine, repairing the landing gear, and renewing and replacing the passenger cabin seats. These efforts were undertaken to ensure the aircraft's efficiency and readiness as part of the national carrier's fleet. The Airbus A330 has already resumed flights and is operating within the company's operational schedule. Talib further mentione d that alongside the maintenance efforts, Iraqi Airways has contracted a specialized trainer to educate new personnel on the Airbus A330. This initiative aims to increase the number of qualified crews for this aircraft model, supporting the airline's operational needs. The plan also includes preparing Iraqi trainers to achieve self-sufficiency in training and knowledge transfer, aligning with international standards for future operational excellence.
