Iraqi Airways Resumes Flight Operations with Renewed Service

Baghdad: Iraqi Airways announced on Friday the resumption of its flights. According to National Iraqi News Agency, a statement from the airline indicated that "after a temporary interruption, the wings of the national carrier have taken to the skies once again." The statement noted that the resumption of flights comes with a more prepared service. Iraqi Airways had earlier announced the resumption of the national carrier's flights starting April 10th. This move is part of its plan to reorganize domestic and international air traffic and make travel available via its fleet after completing the necessary technical and operational requirements. The first phase will focus on operating domestic flights linking the capital, Baghdad, with the governorates of Erbil, Sulaymaniyah, and Basra. This will be paralleled by scheduling a number of flights to international destinations, including Istanbul, Cairo, and Amman, according to an organized operational schedule that considers the smooth flow of air traffic and th e requirements of travel demand.
