Najaf:Iraqi Airways has restarted its flight services between Najaf and Iranian airports, marking a significant development following direct efforts by Prime Minister Ali Al-Zaidi.

According to Iraqi News Agency, this resumption comes after the Iraqi Ambassador to Iran, Yasser Abdul-Zahra Al-Hajjaj, confirmed that Najaf Airport is now open to flights from Iran. The Iraqi government, under the leadership of PM Al-Zaidi, has been actively working to restore air travel between the two neighboring countries.

The ambassador emphasized that the Iraqi government never halted flights to Iran. Instead, the disruption was due to foreign ground-handling companies ceasing their services, fearing potential US sanctions. With these issues now addressed, Najaf Airport is set to accommodate Iranian flights once again.
