Cairo: The Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to Cairo and its Permanent Representative to the League of Arab States, Qahtan al-Janabi, discussed the implementation of the Arab Summit outcomes with the Assistant Secretary-General of the League of Arab States and Director of the Secretary-General’s Office, Hossam Zaki.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs released a statement detailing that the meeting focused on ways to follow up on the implementation of the outcomes of the 34th Arab Summit, hosted in Baghdad on May 17. The discussions particularly emphasized the resolutions submitted by Iraq and adopted during the summit.

Ambassador al-Janabi reiterated Iraq’s commitment to active participation within the frameworks of joint Arab action to realize these resolutions. He highlighted Iraq’s increasingly significant role in the Arab League, which aligns with its goals to foster Arab unity and enhance collaboration on key issues.

Al-Janabi emphasized the necessity of ongoing coordination with the League’s General Secretariat to ensure the summit’s resolutions evolve into actionable steps that benefit Arab nations equitably.

In response, Ambassador Hossam Zaki extended his congratulations to Iraq for the successful hosting of the 34th Arab Summit. He commended the Iraqi government’s efforts and the positive role it has in promoting joint Arab cooperation.

Zaki affirmed the General Secretariat’s commitment to offering comprehensive support in monitoring the implementation of the summit’s decisions and in bolstering cooperation with Iraq across various sectors.
