Baghdad:Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein met with the Russian Federation’s Ambassador Elbrus Kutrashev to discuss preparations for the Joint Iraqi-Russian Committee meeting planned for late December.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the meeting took place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Monday, coinciding with the conclusion of Ambassador Kutrashev’s tenure in Iraq. The ambassador expressed his gratitude to the Iraqi government and people for their hospitality during his five-year term, noting his deep appreciation for Iraq and the insights he gained into its society.

Minister Hussein commended the ambassador for his contributions, highlighting the significant progress in Iraqi-Russian relations during his service. The discussions included preparations for the Joint Committee meeting and the Arab-Russian Dialogue Forum, which the minister is invited to attend.

The meeting also covered various bilateral issues, emphasizing continued coordination with relevant authorities in both countries. Minister Hussein concluded by appreciating the ambassador’s efforts and reaffirming Iraq’s commitment to enhancing relations and cooperation with Russia.
