Baghdad:The General Directorate for Narcotics Affairs successfully thwarted an attempt to smuggle 90 kg of hashish and arrested three foreign suspects within Iraqi territorial waters.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the operation was a collaborative effort involving the General Directorate for Narcotics Affairs, the Naval Force Command, and the Military Intelligence Directorate. The operation was initiated after receiving initial intelligence from a neighboring country, which was analyzed and verified before execution.
Authorities spent an entire day monitoring and tracking the suspect boat, which was eventually intercepted. The operation not only led to the seizure of the hashish but also the arrest of the three individuals involved. Efforts are ongoing to locate a fourth suspect who remains at large, with the intention of bringing him to justice.
