Baghdad: Former Kuwaiti Minister of Information, Sami Abdul Latif Al-Nisf, praised Iraqi diplomacy for its significant influence in the recent Arab Summit held in Baghdad.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Nisf highlighted the achievements of Iraqi leadership during the 34th session of the Arab Summit. He emphasized that Iraq is making strides toward progress not witnessed in the past half-century. The former minister underscored the importance of addressing critical regional issues, including the war on Gaza, conflicts in Lebanon and Syria, and the enduring Palestinian cause. He noted the necessity of mobilizing efforts to find solutions to these pressing challenges.
Al-Nisf also pointed out Iraq's innovative approach in transforming the summit into a dual political and economic development event. He stressed the significance of tackling not only regional conflicts but also broader challenges such as economic issues, education, desertification, water scarcity, and climate change. The inclusion of these topics is seen as essential for fostering development and stability in the region.
Looking ahead to the 35th summit, Al-Nisf expressed optimism about achieving substantial progress. He mentioned goals such as reconstructing war-torn areas in Gaza, Lebanon, and Syria, halting conflicts in Sudan and Libya, and advancing in digital technology and artificial intelligence.
In a related matter, the deputy editor-in-chief of the Kuwaiti newspaper Al-Nahar addressed the Khor Abdullah file, stating that there is no conflict between Kuwait and Iraq regarding the shared waterway. He affirmed Kuwait's support for Iraq and clarified that there is no ongoing crisis between the two nations.
