Damascus: The Iraqi Embassy in Damascus has firmly denied reports regarding the closure of the Al-Qaim border crossing, emphasizing the ongoing economic activity with Syria and the uninterrupted movement of travelers.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Embassy issued a statement in response to circulating rumors on social media, clarifying the falsehood of the news about the closure of the Al-Qaim border crossing. The Embassy categorically denied all reports on this matter, referencing a statement from the Border Ports Authority in the Republic of Iraq to support their position.

The Embassy further clarified that while economic activities and the movement of travelers continue between Iraq and Syria, the number of arrivals has decreased due to the Arbaeen pilgrimage. It is anticipated that there will be an increase in travelers and commercial transport between the two nations once the pilgrimage concludes.
