Iraqi Engineers Syndicate Engages in Key Ministry Session on Contractor Classification

Baghdad: The Engineers Syndicate actively participated in a pivotal session of the Contracting Companies Classification Committee at the Ministry of Planning. Engineer Mustafa Abdul Latif Mahdi, serving as the Head of the Engineering Offices Committee at the Iraqi Engineers Syndicate, took part in the 142nd session chaired by Dr. Hanaa Ismail Al-Asadi, the Undersecretary of the Ministry for Administrative Affairs and Head of the Committee.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the session resulted in the issuance and renewal of 209 classification cards for contracting companies and contractors. Among these, 47 companies received classification for the first time, having satisfied the necessary legal and technical requirements. Additionally, 162 classification cards for already classified companies and contractors were renewed, facilitating the uninterrupted continuation of their operations in line with current regulations and guidelines.

The committee also deliberated on the files of various companies, ultimately deciding to elevate two companies to a higher classification level after they successfully met the established classification standards. The session saw participation from representatives of the Ministries of Industry and Minerals, Construction, Housing, Municipalities and Public Works, the Baghdad Municipality, and the Iraqi Contractors Union.
